She won the award at the ongoing ceremony at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Her contribution to the hit âWait For Uâ by Future featuring Drake earned her the award.
In a viral social media video, Tems, who dressed in a white gown, was seen conversing with Roc Nation founder Jay-Z and his wife, Beyoncé.
Meanwhile, award-winning singer, Damini Ogbulu, known better as Burna Boy lost two nominations.
He lost the âBest Global Music Albumâ and the âBest Global Music Performanceâ categories.
